Willa Cather, 1932. Letter from Cather to George M. Stimson, who worked in production at Alfred A. Knopf. (Stimson had a long career in publishing that included time at Houghton Mifflin, Knopf, and McMillan Co.) The letter begins "I don't think I have ever been so please with the make-up and physical form of a book as I am with this one." Cather's letter comes from Grand Manan, where she reports, "The weather is grand, and life here is too good to be true."
