Context:

Fred Bradbrook, circa 1892. Richard Gayton Lewis was born in Illinois and came to Webster County to live and work with his uncle in the Catherton Precinct. He eventually acquired land in the area and married Mary Forbes. The family moved to Kansas several years after the death of their oldest son, Herbert, in 1900.
